Job Summary

The Physical Security Specialist plays an essential role in supporting the company’s security strategy by ensuring that physical protection systems and protocols are properly implemented andmaintained. This position focuses on monitoring andmaintainingsecurity infrastructure,assistingwith emergency preparedness measures, and providing operational support to safeguard facilities in alignment with corporate standards.

Key Responsibilities

Physical Security & Incident Response

  • Act as the first responder to physical security breaches, incidents, and emergencies, ensuring rapid coordination of initial response actions.

  • Implement and enforce access control measures, including visitor management processes.

  • Support the issuance, revocation, and administration of access badges, alarm codes, and security permissions.

  • Risk Management, Audits & Inspections

  • Conduct security audits, site inspections, and risk assessments across corporate offices, hubs, and field locations.

  • Identify vulnerabilities and develop recommendations to mitigate security risks.

  • Emergency Preparedness & Business Continuity

  • Contribute to the design, deployment, and evaluation of emergency preparedness programs, including:

    Fire drills

    Evacuation plans

    Protest response procedures

    Bomb threat protocols

  • Support business continuity and contingency planning for natural disasters and critical operational disruptions.

  • Collaborate closely with HR, IT, Operations, and other cross-functional teams.

  • Vendor & Security Systems Management

  • Oversee and monitor third-party security guard services, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and performance standards.

  • Coordinate routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades of physical security systems, including:

    CCTV

    Access control systems

    Intrusion and alarm systems

  • Liaise with vendors and internal technical teams to ensure system reliability and compliance.

  • Documentation, Compliance & Best Practices

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date security documentation, including:

    Incident reports

    Audit results

    Equipment inventories

    System configuration records

  • Serve as a local physical security risk management contact, promoting best practices, compliance, and continuous improvement.

  • Qualifications & Requirements

    Licensing & Operational Requirements

  • Valid Private Security or Investigator License issued by the Bureau de la sécurité privée (BSP), in compliance with applicable laws and regulations - mandatory.

  • Ability to work in industrial environments, including walking and traveling between sites.

  • Valid driver’s license - mandatory.

  • Experience & Background

  • 2–4 years of experience in physical security operations or a related field.

  • Experience supporting multi-site operations in environments such as logistics, warehousing, transportation, or supply chain is a strong asset

  • Technical & Professional Skills

  • Solid knowledge of physical security systems (CCTV, access control, alarm systems).

  • Familiarity with emergency preparedness and response protocols.

  • Understanding of workplace violence prevention and incident handling in accordance with company policies.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills, including root cause analysis.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

  • Communication & Languages

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
