Paralegal – Customer Regulation and Resolutions

Join Air Canada as a Paralegal in our Customer Regulation and Resolutions team based in Montreal. Air Canada is Canada's largest airline and a founding member of Star Alliance.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and gather facts necessary to assess claims and prepare responses.
  • Engage in mediation to settle claims, resolve disputes and regain customer confidence.
  • Draft proceedings and responses to claims letters and proceedings.
  • Gather evidence and organize proceedings for court.
  • Research case law as needed, including to assist internal or external counsel.
  • Represent the company at mediation sessions/settlement conferences and plead before small claims courts.
  • Update the Customer Regulation and Resolution team on existing litigation and trends.
  • Review and monitor filing deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Quebec court forms and understanding of the small claims court system.
  • Availability to work flexible hours and travel to various Canadian jurisdictions.
  • Adaptability in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to convey clear, concise, persuasive arguments.
  • Passion for learning and understanding business objectives.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate and support co‑workers.
  • Initiative, proactivity, and resourcefulness.
  • High degree of tact, discretion and good judgement handling confidential information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
  • Paralegal certificate or legal background preferred.
  • Experience in customer claims management or court systems in other Canadian provinces is an asset.
  • Industry knowledge is an asset.
  • Demonstrated punctuality and dependability.
Conditions Of Employment

Eligible to work in Canada and responsible for securing any required work permits or visas.

Linguistic Requirements

Preference for bilingual candidates based on equal qualifications.
