A Snapshot of Your Day
As a member of the Test Operations department, the Data Acquisition System Technologist is responsible for ensuring the accurate collection and recording of quality data during the operation of industrial gas turbines tested at the Montreal test facilities.
The DAS Technologist assists in defining the configuration and implementation of measurement chains, maintains and operates the data acquisition system and Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS), ensures data integrity and system functionality during both production and development testing, and performs first-line troubleshooting of measurement and electronic-related issues.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot Data Acquisition, Emissions Monitoring, and Control Systems (DDAS, proDAS, NxDAS, PCS, ECS, CEMS, FTIR)Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate calibration activities with external contractorsConfigure systems to meet engine test requirements and ensure proper instrumentation setup before testingOperate systems during engine tests and support data collection, replays, and troubleshootingCollaborate with engineering teams on system upgrades, calibration, and test facility projectsMaintain calibration records, update Fault Tracker, and prepare test equipment for development testsWhat You Bring
DEC in Electronics, Instrumentation Technology, or equivalentMinimum 5 years of experience in Metrology, Instrumentation, or DAS testingProfessional attitude, strong communication skills, and teamworkInnovative mindset and proactive in problem-solvingFlexible working on different schedules and at various test facility locationsThis position is in a French-speaking environment but requires fluency in English to comprehend documentation and technical terms from international sources, and to communicate with customers, suppliers, or international colleagues.
