We are seeking a highly skilled Citrix VDI Expert with Epic EHR deployment experience to join our IT team. This role will be responsible for designing, deploying, optimizing, and managing Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions, ensuring seamless integration with Epic Systems for healthcare organizations. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD), Epic Hyperspace, and Windows-based virtual environments, with a strong focus on performance, security, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Citrix VDI Design & Deployment
Design, optimize, and manage CVAD infrastructure for Epic Hyperspace and critical applications.
Deploy and configure Store Front, Net Scaler (ADC), MCS, and Citrix Cloud.
Ensure scalability, redundancy, and high availability.
Epic Integration & Performance Optimization
Collaborate with Epic teams to optimize Citrix Hyperspace.
Manage Citrix profiles and apply best practices.
Troubleshoot latency, connection, and performance issues.
Apply GPO, Citrix policies, and FSLogix to enhance user experience.
Infrastructure & Security Management
Maintain a secure and compliant Citrix environment (Protected B, HIPAA).
Manage PVS/MCS imaging, App Layering, and Citrix WEM.
Monitor, optimize, and maintain Citrix and Epic infrastructure.
Work with network, storage, and security teams.
Provide technical support and document processes.
Ensure service continuity with 24/7 on‑call support and DR.
5+ years of hands‑on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD), including Citrix Cloud, Net Scaler (ADC), Store Front, MCS, and PVS.
3+ years of experience deploying and optimizing Citrix for Epic Hyperspace and other Epic applications.
Expertise in managing Citrix profiles, FSLogix, GPO configurations, and Windows tuning for VDI performance.
Strong experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Windows 10/11 in multi‑session, and integration with Active Directory.
Knowledge of VMware Horizon or Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) is a plus.
Understanding of Epic's Citrix deployment recommendations, including Cache Mode and latency requirements.
Experience with scripting and automation (Power Shell, Citrix WEM, Ansible, etc.).
Familiarity with healthcare IT environments, including Protected B, HIPAA, or HITRUST compliance standards.
Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex Citrix and Epic performance issues.
Key Features
Citrix Certified Expert – Virtualization (CCE‑V) certification or equivalent certifications.
Epic Client Systems Administrator (ECSA) certification or experience with Epic‑related infrastructure.
Experience with cloud‑hosted VDI solutions (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
Knowledge of GPU acceleration for Citrix workloads (NVIDIA GRID/VDI optimization for Epic radiology modules).
Familiarity with Splunk, Control Up, or other Citrix.
