We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Intern to join our IT team and support the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems. This role offers an exciting to explore real-world Dev Ops and SRE practices in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where learning and innovation go hand in hand.
Responsibilities
Assist in detecting and responding to system issues and help document incident reports and post-mortems.
Support application deployment and stability by collaborating with development and operations teams.
Contribute to automating routine tasks and writing scripts/tools to improve efficiency and system reliability.
Help implement and improve monitoring systems (e.g., Datadog) and build dashboards to visualize system health.
Learn about disaster recovery planning and performance optimization and support documentation efforts.
Participate in system design discussions, capacity planning, and team brainstorming sessions.
Explore new technologies, share ideas, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
The role involves daily (or regular) communication with pan-Canadian stakeholders.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Interest in infrastructure, automation, and system reliability.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is an asset.
Understanding of Dev Ops concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, observability platforms).
Experience with scripting (Python, Bash, or similar) is a plus.
Strong initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
