Your Area of FocusThe Financial Services Manager oversees and manages the dealership’s finance and insurance operations. The role involves presenting financing packages, selling insurance products, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Strong customer service, organizational, and negotiation skills are essential.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities- Explain and demonstrate financial options to customers.
- Deal directly with lenders and financial institutions.
- Prepare and document all paperwork for final delivery.
- Meet and exceed sales goals by selling extended products such as protection packages, extended warranties, life and accident/health insurance, and environmental protection packages.
- Adhere to professional ethics and respect customers.
- Be knowledgeable of provincial finance regulations and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- Interact with appropriate departments.
- Structure deals per lender and dealership guidelines.
- Book deals accurately.
- Never misrepresent equipment.
- Perform credit interviews and prepare credit applications.
- Verify accuracy of all credit application information and submit to lenders.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information.
- Sell credit insurance and service contracts.
- Maintain good lender relations.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date guide of current lender programs.
- Analyze credit reports and recognize conventional deals.
- Keep dead files for inactive deals.
- Overcome objections of prospective customers.
- 3‑5 years of experience in the automotive industry.
- Excellent understanding of sales, finance, and management.
- Experience and working relationships with financial institutions.
- Proven record of meeting performance goals.
- Excellent oral, written, and listening skills.
- Judgment and decision‑making ability.
- Ability to identify performance metrics and take corrective actions.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, email, and the Internet.
- Ability to read, understand, and calculate banking figures such as discounts, interest rates, percentages, and commissions.
- Effective time‑management and planning skills.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Bilingual skills (French and English) are preferred.
