Reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounting, the Accounting Analyst plays a key role in supporting the finance department’s daily operations and monthly reporting cycles. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing a variety of financial transactions, ensuring timely reconciliations, and preparing standard or ad‑hoc reporting.
ResponsibilitiesMonth‑end:
- Involve in month‑end activities, including preparing journal entries.
- Perform reconciliation of all intercompany operational accounts receivable and payable balances.
- Perform reconciliation between AR subledger and GL.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Prepare Intercompany invoicing.
- Reconcile credit card statements (Master Card, Amex) and prepare the journal entries
Cash‑flow:
- Perform cash application
- Daily follow‑up of cash balances
- Assist the Treasurer with cash‑flow forecasting.
- Prepare the bank deposit (cheques)
- Prepare the daily deposit list.
- Process certain payments (corporate tax; sales tax, etc) on the banking or governmental platforms and post them in accounting system.
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax remittance reports for all Canadian entities.
Other tasks:
- Configure the customer into F&O.
- Prepare Statistics Canada surveys as well as other governmental surveys.
- Ad‑hoc duties as required to support to corporate finance team.
- 3 – 5 years of similar experience
- Degree in finance, accounting or related field
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel
