Job Description

WB Game Montreal is seeking a talented Advanced VFX Artist to create stunning visual effects to surprise and delight our players.

Your New Role…

In this role, you will work closely with feature teams to design and create visual effects that elevate the gameplay experience to the next level. You will collaborate with art direction and discipline leadership to ensure creative alignment and consistency across the project. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of the VFX pipeline, working alongside technical teams and leveraging available tools.

As a key member of the team, you will coach and mentor others, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help elevate the overall quality of the work. You will play an active role in maintaining clear communication, supporting cross-functional needs, and ensuring that production goals are met efficiently.

Your Role Accountabilities...

Work with art direction and content teams to elevate the gameplay experience by designing and creating real-time visual effects across the full scope of the game.

Develop a creative direction for VFX techniques and style to maintain consistency in the user experience.

Collaborate with multiple teams to assess and prioritize their needs.

Work with the technical team and available tools to improve the VFX pipeline.

Act as a mentor and share your knowledge with team members.

Qualifications & Experience…

8+ years of experience in creating VFX for video games and having worked on more than one a published AAA title.

Having a portfolio/website demonstrating your artistic skills.

Understanding of hardware constraints and mastery of techniques to transcend them.

Mastery of Maya, Photoshop, and knowledge of related software packages such as Houdini and Ember Gen are a desired asset.

In-depth knowledge of VFX development in game engines; familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 and the Niagara pipeline is highly desired.

Active interest in advancement of VFX trends and techniques.

Good knowledge of shader technology.

Experience in mentoring other is a desired asset.

Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies.

Self-motivated person who thrives in a collaborative environment.
