Review critical technical proposals to ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements, best practices, and practical use.
Provide technical support to engineering development owners and integrators when needed.
Perform trade‑off studies to assess new propulsion concepts.
Manage risks within the assigned perimeter and support other functions.
Serve as a technical reference for the group in front of external partners and other Airbus platforms.
Act as an entrepreneur/intrapreneur: create opportunities by exploiting emerging technologies and business trends, experiment with new ways of thinking and working, drive simplification, continuous improvement, and disruptive innovation.
Be accountable for knowledge management within the domain.
Deliver on TCQP (Time/Cost/Quality/Performance).
Mentor teammates.
Demonstrate leadership skills and reflect Airbus values (teamwork, customer orientation, integrity, respect, creativity, reliability).
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field.
Over 20 years of experience in engine turbo machinery core design, ideally including work with an engine OEM and throughout the product life cycle.
Solid understanding of turbofan design best practices, performance, validation, verification, rig, and flight testing.
Familiarity with engine externals, FADEC software, and controls.
Knowledge of system installation qualification requirements (e.g., D0160, vibration, tubing) for aircraft accessories such as fire detection loops, protection tubing, drains, and fuel/hydraulic piping.
Experience in risk management, probability analysis techniques, and failure event identification.
Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) would be a significant additional asset.
Understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR) Airworthiness Manual development and certification life cycle processes.
Previous experience in aircraft investigations would be an asset.
Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and teamwork.
Experience with vendor management.
Excellent communication and technical writing skills; able to work effectively with English‑speaking suppliers.
