Salary Range:  85 500$ - 135 500$

Challenge and What You Will Do
What will you do:

Contribute to bids and proposals by analyzing customer requirements, developing system architectures, selecting subsystems and/or components, and evaluating design compliance and technical risks;

Create and maintain system architecture documents;

Allocate and derive requirements for subsystem elements;

Coordinate interfaces between system components and develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs);

Conduct engineering studies and analyses;

Manage technical performance measures and engineering budgets (power, weight, design margin, link budgets, etc.);

Identify risks, write risk statements, and prepare risk mitigation strategies;

Manage engineering changes and design baselines;

Develop test plans to verify and validate requirements;

Design, implement and execute system test cases. Analyze and evaluate test results;

Develop technical specifications for suppliers and subcontractors, identify potential suppliers, define selection criteria and evaluate vendor proposals;

Develop system level designs;

Document design data;

Provide engineering support to manufacturing, integration, test, and in-service support activities.

Required Skills and Experiences

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Requires proficiency in one or more area of defence communication systems technology (for example, radio communications, naval communications, satellite communications, secure data networks)

Knowledge of certification standards and processes

Proficient in MS Office tools

Knowledge of environmental, EMI/EMC, and certification requirements;

Knowledge of RF antenna performance and co-site interference tools and processes;

Knowledge of naval communication systems, including V/UHF radio, satellite communications, and tactical data links

Experience working in different operating systems (Windows, Linux, Apple, etc.);

Working knowledge of IBM DOORS®;

Strong verbal and written communication

Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory)

Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.

Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
