Contractor - Stress Engineering | Structures
We are seeking a driven aerospace engineer as Stress Engineering Contractor for BETA Technologies' Montreal Structures team. The role supports the certification of electric aircraft through composite and metallic structural analysis, FEM, hand calculations, stress reports, and manufacturing support.

Responsibilities

Generate and review composite and metallic structural analysis using FEM and hand calculations.

Compile stress reports to support certification.

Support manufacturing and aircraft assembly MRB, collaborating within an IPT.

Derive test plans and requirements, develop material datasets, complete trade studies, and support structural test execution.

Perform stress analysis and trade studies, provide low‑level test execution support, derive stress requirements and allowables, and analyze test results.

Assist internal departments requiring stress engineering skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Minimum 10 years post‑education experience in an industry setting.

Proven track record of full product life cycle development.

Experience with composite sizing, CMH‑17, AC20‑107B, ASTM, FAR 23 and 25.

Proficiency with FEA tools such as MSC Patran, Altair Hypermesh.

Strong understanding of aircraft primary structural load paths and materials.

Ability to simplify complex problems and scope constraints.

Familiarity with CAD/PLM systems (3DX, CATIA, POLARION).

Knowledge of FAA, EASA, TCCA regulatory requirements.

Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Self‑motivated, energetic, excellent communication and listening skills.

Effective in fast‑paced team environments.
