    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Data Governance Specialist in the Business Relations & Operations area plays a crucial role in fostering strong relationships with business stakeholders, ensuring effective Data Stewardship across the organization and overseeing the execution of the annual Data & AI Governance operational cycle. Your contributions will directly impact the alignment of data governance practices with business objectives, enhancing the overall data quality and reliability.

    As a Data Governance Specialist, your mission is to manage stakeholder engagement, facilitate Data Steward training, and oversee the Data Stewardship Tables and Committees. You will ensure that the annual calendar of operations and reporting cycles are effectively implemented, promoting a culture of accountability and compliance within the organization.

    CHALLENGES TO BE MET

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders to ensure alignment with data governance policies.

  • Design and implement training programs for Data Stewards to enhance their capabilities and understanding of data governance.

  • Coordinate and manage Data Stewardship Tables and Committees to facilitate effective decision-making, includes preparing and managing agendas and coordinating preparation of materials.

  • Oversee the annual calendar of operations and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate data governance activities.

  • Act as the “Voice of Business” during quarterly IT Planning to ensure that stakeholder issues and needs regarding data are prioritized.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data governance practices are integrated into business processes.

  • Conduct regular assessments of data stewardship effectiveness and implement improvements as needed.

  • Develop communication strategies to raise awareness of data governance initiatives across the organization.

  • CONTRIBUTION TO DATA GOVERNANCE

    This role ensures compliance with data governance policies by providing guidance and support to business stakeholders, fostering a culture of accountability, enhancing data stewardship practices and ensuring business agency to prioritise corrections to data issues.

    CONTRIBUTION TO AI GOVERNANCE

    By promoting data quality and integrity, this role supports AI governance initiatives, ensuring that AI models are built on reliable and accurate data, ultimately enhancing decision-making processes.

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in data governance or data management roles.

  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and best practices.

  • Experience in stakeholder management and training facilitation.

  • Proficiency in data quality tools and metrics.

  • Qualities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Good negotiator and problem solver.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
