Description:
We are looking for a dynamic and technically skilled professional to join our Finance team as a Manager – Accounting & Consolidation Projects. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with both the Consolidation and Accounting Policies teams, providing exposure to a broad range of corporate accounting activities. This position is ideal for a Big 4 accounting professional seeking to transition to industry and gain hands-on experience in both technical accounting and financial reporting.
You will be involved in complex accounting matters, special projects, and cross-functional initiatives that directly contribute to CGI’s financial integrity and operational growth. Based in Montreal, Canada, under a hybrid work model, this role offers a stimulating environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and professional development.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
In this role, you will act as a key liaison between the Consolidation and Accounting Policies teams, supporting both technical accounting assessments and financial reporting deliverables.
• Lead the accounting for business acquisitions, including purchase price allocation (PPA), and ensure proper follow-up accounting on a monthly basis until full integration;
• Review and advise on critical revenue contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with IFRS;
• Participate in special projects, such as the implementation of new accounting standards and process improvements;
• Support the Consolidation team in specific accounting investigations and complex transactions;
• Collaborate with various internal partners (FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, etc.) to resolve accounting issues efficiently;
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and documentation;
• Act as a resource for technical accounting matters, helping to bridge knowledge between operational and corporate finance teams.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• 4 to 6 years of experience in accounting, ideally from a Big 4 or national accounting firm;
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and business combination accounting (PPA);
• Experience with revenue recognition and contract reviews;
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills;
• Fluency in French and English, with strong writing skills in both languages;
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment;
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (especially Excel);
• Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn and contribute across multiple finance functions.
