* Key Responsibilities:
** - Provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced environment - Perform bedside procedures including:
- NG tube insertion - Peripheral IV insertion - Telemetry strip interpretation - Collaborate effectively with a tight-knit team - Maintain patient safety and comfort
** Requirements:** - Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications - NIHSS certification prior to starting - Telemetry certification preferred
- Minimum experience:
- 5 years med-surg telemetry OR 3 years telemetry - Previous travel nursing experience is essential - EPIC experience within the past 2 years is required - Completed 2 travel assignments in 300+ bed facilities OR previous experience at any UVMHN acute care facility - Reliable transportation needed as public transport is not available in the area
** Additional Information:**
- Schedule:
- Monday to Sunday - No block schedules - Self-scheduling with bi-weekly rotations - Shift
Hours:
12-hour shifts (option to pick up extra 8-hour shifts) - Patient Nurse Ratio: 3-5 days, 4-6 nights - Ancillary Support: LNA (1:8-10 ratio), Secretary available - Orientation: 1-2 precepted shifts, plus time with educators
** Patient Population:** - Adults with conditions including:
- Post-operative orthopedics - Post-operative urology and GI - COPD, CHF, diabetes, end-of-life care, dementia - Telemetry experience required for active patient monitoring
** Dress Code:** - Professional attire; scrubs acceptable - Closed-toe non-skid shoes - Minimal jewelry and groomed hair/beard
