- ** Unit Focus:
** Med-Surg with Telemetry
- ** Patient Care Responsibilities:** - Insertion of NG tubes and peripheral IVs - Interpretation of telemetry strips at the bedside - Providing compassionate care in a telemetry setting
- ** Schedule Requirements:** - Minimum of every other weekend commitment - Flexible scheduling adjusted to meet unit needs - Self-scheduling available through an online program
- ** Experience
Required:
** - 5 years of medical-surgical telemetry experience or 3 years of telemetry experience - Prior travel experience preferred - Must have previously completed 2 travel assignments in facilities with 300+ beds or have experience at any UVMHN acute care facility
- ** Certifications
Required:
** - AHA BLS - AHA ACLS - NIHSS (required before starting)
- ** Preferred
Skills:
** - Telemetry certification - EPIC system experience (within the last 2 years)
- ** Patient Population:** - Adults with a variety of diagnoses including telemetry cases, post-operative care, and chronic conditions
- ** Team Environment:** - Work collaboratively with RNs, LPNs, and LNAs - Supportive and tight-knit community atmosphere
- ** Orientation and Support:** - 1-2 precepted shifts plus time with educators before patient contact - 24/7 availability of respiratory and anesthesia support
** Additional Notes:** - Reliable transportation is a must (public transport not available) - Parking is free onsite - Housing options may be up to 15 minutes away
