Position: Business Analyst (UM)

Responsibilities

include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs business analysis in a variety of complex situations
  • Makes recommendations for product enhancements
  • Provides a point of contact for business units into IT
    • Reviews requirements, specifications, test, support and training plans to ensure they are in line with business objectives on projects
  • Participates in root cause analysis in order to recommend product enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve productivity for both the business units and IT
  • May act as a project manager on some projects
  • Works closely with team members to ensure that timelines are being met
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders
  • Coordinate with different department teams to produce better business outcomes
  • Provides members of the affected Business Unit with training
  • Works with IT team regarding process documentation and overall documentation management
  • Collaborates with the testing team on test results, root cause analysis and identify requirement gaps and resolutions
  • Conducts knowledge transfer to the support teams during the implementation phase of projects
  • Performs special assignments in support of department objectives
Requirements
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments concurrently

Desired Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Experience related to property and casualty insurance
