Job Summary: The School Counselor provides direct and indirect social work services to students experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioral problems that interfere with their performance in school, and facilitates communication among school, home and community providers.

Licensure

Current School Counselor license with the Minnesota Department of Education required.

Experience
  • Experience working with elementary school students
  • Awareness of best practices for counseling/procedures
  • Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism and ethical practices
  • Maintain confidentiality of information about students and families
  • Experience working with diverse students and families
