y Unit at Tri Health Bethesda North is a 43-bed unit specializing in the care of patients with renal and pulmonary conditions, including COPD exacerbations and dialysis complications. • 2 years High School Education
• Age 17 with work permit
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Reading and math ability appropriate to the position
• Experience as an STNA, PCA or ACT strongly preferred

Performs and documents basic patient care tasks under the direct supervision of an RN. Maintains competency of tasks in which the ACT has been trained. Completes assigned tasks within required timeframe. Seeks clarification from the nurse when in doubt about how to proceed.

Maintains a safe environment. Reports safety hazards to appropriate personnel. Completes safety event report as necessary. Complies with Infection Control policies. Demonstrates knowledge of safety/emergency policies and procedures and appropriately corrects any identified hazards.

Communicates effectively with others. Shows respect to patients, families and co‑workers. Reports patient related information in a timely manner. Reports problems in completing assignment/tasks in a timely manner to the appropriate person. Documents observations and tasks performed.
