Fire Technician – Montgomery, AL

Join Total Safety as a Fire Technician and support the maintenance and installation of pipe fitting systems in industrial plants. Total Safety is the world’s leading provider of safety and compliance services.

• Maintain job site documentation, including timesheets and building drawings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications for installation activities.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and pipe fitting equipment to assemble, tighten, and loosen bolts on flange connections and manways.
• Perform work in challenging positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high‑lift equipment up to forty feet; work in ducts, crawl spaces, or above ceilings.
• Assist with installation/removal of blinds for pressure testing as needed.
• Install valves and piping spools using impact wrenches, combination wrenches, and line‑up pins.
• Support other related duties as required and assigned.

• 3+ years as a boilermaker in the fire protection, petrochemical, or oil refinery industry (preferred).
• Proficient with pipe fittings, bolts, valves, and related equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools weighing up to forty pounds.
• Valid state driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug/alcohol screening.

Industrial or shop environment; frequently exposed to wet, humid, outdoor weather conditions and vibration. May be exposed to high pressure, chemicals, gas releases, or fire. Noise level is usually moderate.

High School Diploma or equivalent education and/or experience. NCCER Certificate in Pipe fitting/Boilermaker is preferred. Current TWIC required.
