Traveler Feedback - I’m currently at Baptist Medical Center south in Montgomery, Alabama. My ICU manager Lindsey is such a wonderful leader. The facility is adequately staffed, and follows Best practice guidelines. The float Policy is acceptable and float Nurses are welcomed with open arms. I’m so glad my recruiter located this assignment for me.

-Baptist Health Center South Montgomery, Alabama. The staff have been great. My wife and I usually don’t stay anywhere past 6 months but we will be at Baptist 1 year in December.

-This is a great facility in terms of the care that it provides to patients and also the friendliness of the staff. New people are always welcomed. The staff make you feel like you belong and express appreciation for you being there. Patient care is a collaborative effort and staff take pride in teamwork.

Baptist Medical Center South-everyone has been helpful and supportive. Facility is clean, equipment is all in good condition.

Vent care, hemodynamic monitoring, medication titrations, arterial line, IABP, Impella, EKOS, CRRT, Chest tube, Swan ganz catheter, Flo Trac monitoring, titratable drip management, hypothermia protocol
CVICU

Number of Beds: 12
Patient Types:
Post op CABG, Valve, thoracotomies, V-A and V-V ECMO, post cardiac arrest, post heart cath, post op vascular surgery, critical care

Skills required:

Swan ganz catheters, arterial lines, hemodynamic monitoring, chest tubes, CRRT, medication titration, IABP, Impella, EKOS, vent management, Tandem Life/Tandem Lung
MICU

Number of Beds: 14
Patient Types:
Acute respiratory failure, acute renal failure, acute liver failure, DKA, sepsis/septic shock, some post-surgical

Skills required:

ART lines, trach care, chest tubes, vasopressor usage, sedation usage, central lines
Neuro ICU

Number of Beds: 14
* Very busy unit, quick turn over in patients
Patient Types:
CVA, Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), Subdural hemorrhage (SDH), intraparenchymal hemorrhage (IPH), seizures

Skills required:

Trach care/maintenance, art line, vent/ETT, EVD, ICP monitoring (can teach)
Surgical ICU

Post surgical, trauma, vascular, multisystem trauma , neuro trauma

Skills required:

Trach care, art line, chest tube, wound care, drip management (pressors and sedation); CRRT preferred.
