Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• Preferred 18 months of Medical Surgical Float Pool experience.
• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Alabama license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted.
• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program:
Simpli Fi Program - Baptist Health UAB and no current placement allowed at Program:
Simpli Fi Program - Baptist Health UAB.

Required Skills/Experience:
- 6 North Trauma Surgical
- Skills required:
At least 1 year of trauma/surgical experience. Wound care, chest tubes, NGT, IV skills, medication administration/documentation and escalations - 5 South Neuroscience
- Skills required:
IV start, blood draws from central lines, trach care, PEG, NGT, Colostomy/Ostomy, Wound Care, Chest tube, Surgical Site Care, C-Collar, Abdominal Binders, Restraints - 5 North Med Surg/Oncology: chemo experience high preferred
- Skills required:
Trach care, chest tubes, PEG tubes, wound care, drains, foleys, IV starts;
Chemo administration, if certified. - 4 South Clinical Decision Unit
- Skills required:
Assessment, prioritization, communication and documentation skills. Tracheotomy care, Suctioning, O2 Therapy, ostomy care, Foley care, External catheter care, PEG/NGT care and use, wound care, chest tube, central line care, pressure ulcer management/preventive measures, falls prevention management, restraints. - 3 South Orthopedics
- Skills required:
PCA pumps, wound care (negative pressure dressing), dressing changes, foley, drains (hemovacs/JP drains) - 3 North MS/Ortho/Urology
- Skills Required:
Trach, wound care, wound vacs, IV starts, CVL dressing changes, follow nurse-driven foley protocol.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Chemo experience.
Shift & Scheduling:
- 36/48
- Weekend rotation:
Every other or 4 weekend days per month - Holiday Expectations:
One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy
Floating Requirements: Any like unit/patient location (MS-MS, MS-ICU task, MS-ER/MS holds; ICU-ICU, ICU-MS task or limit of 3, ICU-ER/ICU holds)
10 days maximum time off.
