Night Shift
Summary:
The RN - Charge Nurse shall be responsible to facilitate, coordinate, and evaluate unit activities for the provision of quality patient care during the assigned shift. This individual is responsible to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager and will serve as a mentor to the staff. The Charge Nurse shall demonstrate the consistent ability to act as a role model by providing direction in the application of the nursing process, quality improvement standards, and organizational and department goal and objectives in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
Education/Experience:
Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred. Minimum 1 year staff nurse experience required.
License/Certification:
Active RN licensure required, BLS required, Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc) may be required depending upon area assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
- Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.
- Ability to effectively manage time and schedules.
- Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
- Ability to observe, assess, and record work, safety and infection control standards.
