Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with strong trauma and multi-specialty surgical circulating skills for a Level II Trauma Center position requiring BLS, ACLS, and either an AL or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Position is in the Operating Room supporting General and Trauma specialties and backing up Ortho, Neuro, and ENT,

• Care for adult patients with minimal pediatric cases, typically in Ortho,

• 1:1 patient ratio in a 15-bed OR suite, including 2 CVOR rooms,

• Day shifts are 10 hours, starting at 6:30 AM,

• On-call rotation includes 1 weekday per week and one full weekend per month, with a 30-minute response time required,

• Holiday coverage required per contract,

• Green scrubs provided,

• No floating is required,

• Cerner EMR in use,

• Technology includes Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors,

• Two weeks of orientation on day shift with buddy call,

Job Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license,

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications,

• At least 2 years of OR RN experience required; 1 year experience not accepted,

• Strong circulating RN experience in trauma, neuro, general, vascular, ENT, ortho (with total joint experience), spine, gyn, urology, plastics, breasts, eyes, and robotics for both general and neuro cases,

• Prefer experience with robotic systems such as Mazor and DaVinci XI,

• Distinction between cardiovascular (open heart) and vascular (peripheral) cases is required,

• Cerner EMR experience preferred,

• No previous permanent employment at this facility within the last 6 months,

• Local candidates living within a 60-mile radius are not eligible,

Additional Information

• The OR team includes a charge nurse, desk assistant, ORA, and service line team leaders,

• Must be able to provide 30-minute response during on-call periods,

• Travelers may be first-time if they meet the minimum experience requirement,

• Orientation includes pairing with a buddy and taking buddy call,
