• The Terminal Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the terminal, including management of employees, trailers, manage costs, keep terminal clean and in compliance related to environmental issues.
• Manage inventories to avoid stock outs and or demurrage
• Responsible for process improvements
• Foster teamwork, open communication, and cooperation across functional boundaries
• Plan, develop, and implement strategies to maximize production and reduce costs
• Responsible for quality, safety, and service
• Responsible for staffing of plant to ensure operational efficiency
• Previous experience supervising front-line employees
• 5 years of cement terminal experience highly preferred
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills; ability to motivate, coach and develop employees
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
• Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate with employees/visitors and to operate safely around heavy rolling equipment
• Must be able to perform all job functions including pushing, turning, and pulling of controls
• Capability to work extended hours as necessary
• Ability to work with standard office/computer equipment
• Capable of working in an open office environment
• Ability to participate in required overnight travel as necessary
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
