Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services to nearly 60% of the residents in Montgomery, Autauga, and Elmore counties.

The Maintenance Mechanic III shall perform repair and preventive maintenance duties on building, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration systems. This individual shall install new equipment in all areas of facilities used and owned by Baptist Health Systems and Services. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

• Repair and preventive maintenance of building, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
• Install new equipment in all areas of Baptist Health facilities.
• Interpret blueprints and schematics on buildings and equipment.
• Observe, assess, and record work, safety, and infection control standards.
• Work independently and in team environments to foster a cooperative work environment.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• State Licensure and/or 5 years of practical on-the-job training in a maintenance field preferred.
• Electrical experience preferred.

Position requires standing, stooping, bending, climbing, and working in cramped positions for extended periods of time. Frequent reaching, use of hands, and repetitive action. Lifting or carrying up to 75 pounds. Clear diction and hearing sensitivity needed for communication by phone or in person. Exposure to weather conditions up to 40% of the time, high noise levels around some equipment, and restricted areas occasionally.

Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock, infectious disease, hazardous chemicals, and radiation. Significant computer work.
