IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN)
SummaryThis position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber بحاجة Command. The role is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure and is located in the DISA – HC/Operations Support Office.
Responsibilities- Maintain and improve change and configuration management processesственно, ensuring an accurate Configuration Management Database to support informed business decisions and effective IT service delivery.
- Offer ITIL expertise to advise team leads and section chiefs on process improvement, strategic planning, and policy development, optimizing resource utilization.
- Execute the adoption and integration of the DISA Enterprise Service Management Framework and local ITSM change/configuration processes, driving continuous improvement through evaluation, monitoring, and standardized documentation.
- Coordinate with internal and external entities to manage service disruptions, changes, and risks, analyzing performance, presenting findings to leadership, and establishing baselines for continuous improvement of IT service delivery.
- Contribute to shaping and implementing a comprehensive ITSM approach aligned with mission and business priorities, leveraging industry best practices and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver effective IT solutions.

- In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications within 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
- Attention to Detail – experience reviewing one's own IT‑related work or data and having others ask to review theirs for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
- Customer Service – experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing their IT needs, and developing or identifying IT products and services tailored to meet those needs.
- Oral Communication – briefing mid‑level management and IT staff on the status of IT systems, projects, or daily operations, including technical communication toizem non‑technical audiences.
- Problem Solving – identifying alternatives to address complex information‑related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources to provide multiple potential solutions.
For a GG‑12 grade, a minimum of one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position is required. Experience may be paid, unpaid, volunteer, or military and must include at least one of the following:
- Applying change management principles to ensure data integrity, procedural compliance, and adherence to ITIL standards while providing user guidance and training on related processes and tools.
- Analyzing existing workflows to identify problems, recommend solutions, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Developing and tracking key metrics to measure process effectiveness, including data collection, trend analysis, and reporting.
Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within their resume within 30 days after the closing date.
EducationThere is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG‑12 grade level.

- Accepting the position may require a three‑year probationary period during which performance will be evaluated.
- Telework availability is based upon mission requirements and supervisory determination.
