Healthcare Nursing, Patient Care Technician
Overview
High School diploma or equivalent. Training as a surgical technologist is preferred. Prefer previous work experience in job related positions such as medical assisting, nursing assistant, and previous endoscopy experience preferred. Nurse Aide certification or certification from acceptable hospital program. Must pass NST phlebotomy test. Certification as an endoscopy technician preferred. BLS certification required. Excellent verbal and customer-focused skills required. Ability to interact effectively with the public, physicians, and hospital staff.
Proficiency with endoscopy procedures and NST tasks. Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to assist in lifting, turning, pushing, pulling and ambulating patients, and moving equipment involving a minimum of 50 pounds. Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing, visual and hearing acuity necessary for patient care. Frequent prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Manual dexterity necessary to manipulate patient care equipment. Ability to meet the attendance requirements of the job.
