The Unit Clerk shall facilitate the efficient operation of the health care unit through consistent organizational and communication skills. The Unit Clerk will assist RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Physicians in the patient care process. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within the scope of the role.

• High School graduate or equivalent required. Prefer at least 6 months of hospital experience.
• BLS required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and computer experience.
• Strong communication and customer relation skills.

Position requires sitting for 80% of the workday and mobility 20% of the workday. Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. Continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes.

Minimal noise levels. Continuous exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease and hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
