SummaryThe Patient Care Technician shall serve as a supportive member of the patient care team who will assist in routine and non-complex aspects of patient care.
Education & Experience- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Graduate from a certified Nursing Assistant Program or a Health Occupations Program (HOSA) preferred.
- Completion of first clinical rotation as a Nurse Student or 1 year of experience in a patient care role in an acute care, nursing home or home care setting preferred.
- BLS required.
- Knowledge of body mechanics & basic safety, principles of physical care and comfort.
- Medical terminology training preferred.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints & concerns.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally & in writing.
Physical Requirements
Position requires sitting 20% of workday and mobility 80% of workday. Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching. Frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. Continuous need for speaking with clear diction. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Minimal noise levels. Exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure risk of electrical shock.
Exposure to infectious disease, hazardous chemicals, radiation.
