Patient Care Technician (PCT) supports the patient care team by assisting in routine and non‑complex aspects of patient care. The PCT collaborates with RNs, LPNs, and physicians and may perform additional duties within the scope of the role.
Education and Experience- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Certified Nursing Assistant Program graduate or Health Occupations Program (HOSA) preferred
- First clinical rotation as a Nurse Student (Nursing Fundamentals) or one year of experience in an acute care, nursing home, or home care setting preferred
BLS required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of body mechanics and basic safety principles
- Medical terminology training preferred
- Customer complaint and concern resolution
- Effective oral and written communication
Physical Requirements
Position requires sitting 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday. Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Frequent reaching, use of hands, and repetitive action. Occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing or pulling up to 150 pounds. Continuous need for clear diction and hearing sensitivity. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Exposure to computer work, electrical shock risk, infectious disease, hazardous chemicals, and radiation.
