SummaryThe clinic scheduler is responsible for assisting the provider with the maintenance and scheduling of patient testing and procedures, as well as, providing referrals to specialists. They will use the EMR program to document, will reschedule as needed, and will provide clerical assistance as needed to provider.
Education / ExperienceGraduate of a School of Pharmacy required, Pharm
D degree preferred (or 2-3 years clinical experience).
Active RPH required, Alabama Controlled Substance certification required, BLS required, BPS preferred, Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, and NRP) may be required depending upon area assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Ability to accurately perform computer order entry duties.
- Proficient in needed pharmaceutical calculations and the metric system.
- Basic knowledge in pharmacokinetic calculations and parenteral nutrition management.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique.
- Evidence of commitment to continuing education.
Position requires sitting for 90% of the workday and mobility 10% of the workday. Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 15 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. Continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
