** Highlights:
**** Summary**:
The Medical Staff Coordinator shall works with Administration, Quality Management, Medical Staff Office staff, Hospital, and ancillary hospital personnel. This individual shall direct and conduct administrative support; as well as to provide resources needed for the Medical Staff, Allied Health Professionals, and Special Limited Staff, enabling them to fulfill their duties and obligations as defined by national regulatory agencies and the Hospital and Medical Staff procedures.

This position may have additional duties assigned as needed.
** Education / Experience**:

Degree in Business Administration or equivalent or have at least 2 years relevant work experience in credentialing, either in a hospital setting or managed care setting preferred.
** License / Certification**:
Medical Staff Services Certification (CPMSM or CPCS) strongly preferred or encouraged within 5 years of hire
** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:  
• Must possess basic office equipment knowledge and skill (FAX, typing, copying);  
• Must possess advanced computer skills;  
• Must possess knowledge of medico-legal issues, laws and regulatory agency requirements;  
• Must be self-directed and have excellent organizational skills;  
• Ability to function efficiently under stress due to demands related to deliverables and deadlines;  
• Ability to analyze reports;  
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;  
• Individual should be highly motivated with problem-solving and analysis abilities;  
• Must be flexible concerning working hours.
** Working Conditions/Physical Requirements**:

Position requires sitting for 70% of the workday and mobility 30% of the workday.  There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50pounds.  There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.  Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.  Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Some exposure exposure to radiation.
