The Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Social Work at Auburn University at Montgomery invites applications for a pool of adjuncts capable of teaching introductory courses in anthropology. Upper‑level anthropology courses may be available, depending on the candidate’s experience and research areas. A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Anthropology is preferred; a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Anthropology is required. Previous teaching experience is preferred.
At this time, available positions are for in‑classroom courses only, though candidates must also be capable of teaching online if needed.
All instructors are expected to be competent teachers who cover the essential content, fulfill the learning objectives of the courses they teach, respond to changing professional needs, and demonstrate a commitment to innovative delivery of instruction and effective use of technology.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses in introductory anthropology, and potentially upper‑level courses, as assigned.
- Develop and deliver course content that meets learning objectives.
- Utilize technology to enhance student learning and assess student progress.
- A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Anthropology is preferred.
- Minimum of 18 graduate hours in Anthropology.
- Teaching experience preferred.
