Position DescriptionThe Assistant Construction Superintendent is the field representative of the Company and is responsible for the safe completion of projects within budget, on schedule, to the company's quality standards, and to the customer's satisfaction. The Assistant Construction Superintendent will work closely with the project team to ensure safety compliance, craft supervision and production, trade partner coordination, scheduling, material handling handled to the Company's standards.
PositionQualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field, and/or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Five (5) related field required.
- Professional accreditations desirable.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to function as part of a high-performance team.
- Excellent working knowledge of construction methods, facilities operations and building systems.
- Familiarity with strategic planning.
- Ability to work collaboratively in mobile work environment.
- Software proficiency in MS Office and report writing applications.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ensure safety is properly incorporated into job planning and execution by enforcing policies by actively participating in all safety related functions.
- Create AHAs/STAs with Foreman for self-performed work. Review AHAs for trade partners.
- Create material handling and site utilization plans for specific areas. Coordinate with Project Coordinator on material needs, RFIs, etc.
- Engage in project scheduling activities while upholding a well-maintained four-week project schedule.
- Coordinate and supervise company work force in his/her area.
- Facilitate the coordination and scheduling of trade partners, actively engaging in weekly scheduling meetings alongside trade partner's foremen.
- Maintain accurate time keeping, project logs, and cost records.
- Ensure material received is properly inspected for quantity and quality, and that the receiving tickets are properly signed and coded and given to the jobsite administrator.
- Responsible for all quality control on the project, both Company and subcontractors.
- Heavy Work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
