AES (a division of Lennox) was established in 1988 and is one of the largest manufacturers of roof curbs and drop box diffuser systems in the nation. We recently expanded our capabilities through a Mechanical Services Division and as a Misc. Steel manufacturer. These new services reduce construction costs and eliminate coordination with multiple suppliers and subcontractors. Our focus is to enhance services provided to our General Contractor network nationwide.

AES has 4 fabrication facilities nationwide to assist our customers and reduce freight costs and shipment lead times.

As a purchasing supervisor, you will supervise purchasing staff, review and approve purchase orders, and coordinate purchasing activities.

What You’ll Do

Market Research and Supplier Identification

  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers.
  • Source materials, components, and services required for manufacturing operations.

Supplier Evaluation and Selection

  • Evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and delivery performance.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure favorable agreements.

Supplier Performance Management

  • Track supplier performance in terms of on‑time delivery, quality, and responsiveness.

Collaboration and Coordination

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (production, engineering, sales) to align on material requirements.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs.
  • Manage inventory levels to optimize working capital and ensure uninterrupted production.

Cost‑Saving Initiatives and Process Improvements

  • Identify and implement cost‑saving initiatives.
  • Implement process improvements related to purchasing.

Industry Awareness and Trend Monitoring

  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new technologies.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • 3–5 years of experience in supplier management, procurement, or related roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration.
  • Strong negotiation abilities and analytical skills.
  • Willing and able to travel 10% of the time.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Ability to drive transformation and implement changes.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with ERP system implementation.
Travel Requirement

This role is based out of our Tallassee, AL headquarters, just 30 minutes outside of Auburn and Montgomery. It will require occasional travel to production sites in Reno, NV;
Weatherford, TX; and Wheeling, WV. Approximately 20% of your time will be dedicated to traveling to these sites, allowing you to build strong relationships with on‑site teams and facilitate cross‑site collaboration.

What We Offer

Compensation
:
This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range is $79,200–$103,950 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the company’s applicable plan. Employees are not eligible for overtime.
