Our client, an industry leader in the mining and mineral processing sector, is seeking a Safety Supervisor to drive safety excellence at their Montevallo and Brierfield locations.

As the Safety Supervisor, you'll oversee comprehensive safety programs, ensuring compliance with MSHA standards and fostering a culture of safety excellence. This individual contributor role requires strong leadership to influence safety practices across the site while being hands‑on in training, compliance, and incident management.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure MSHA compliance through training, reporting, and documentation.
- Conduct safety audits and lead site safety committees.
- Investigate incidents and provide strategic insights for preventative measures.
- Develop and deliver engaging safety training sessions.
- Collaborate on safety considerations for capital projects and site upgrades.
- Montevallo (primary site, 80% of time) and Brierfield locations.
- Teams of 82 and 28 employees, respectively.
- Exposure to cutting‑edge equipment and ongoing site expansions.
- Experience
: 5–7 years in safety management, specifically in mining, aggregates, or related heavy manufacturing industries. - Certification
: MSHA Parts 46 & 48 required. - Skills
:
Leadership, training facilitation, compliance expertise, and a collaborative approach to building trust. - Attributes
:
Ability to thrive in challenging environments, managing multiple priorities while maintaining safety as a top priority.
- Knowledge of limestone/mineral mining operations.
- Familiarity with safety standards such as fall protection, lockout/tagout, and emergency response.
