Alejandro’s is a modern Mexican restaurant and bar in Monterey, known for its signature cocktails, tequila and mezcal selection, and elevated dining experience.
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Bar Manager to lead our bar team. This role is responsible for overseeing daily bar operations, maintaining drink quality and consistency, and creating a high‑energy, guest‑focused bar experience.
You’ll report directly to the Alejandro’s General Manager and work closely with ownership, servers, bartenders, and kitchen leadership to ensure smooth, efficient, and professional service.

- Oversee daily bar operations including opening, closing, and evening service flow.
- Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non‑alcoholic beverages.
- Train, lead, and support bartenders and barbacks.
- Maintain drink recipes, quality, and presentation.
- Manage bar inventory, ordering, par levels, and waste control.
- Ensure compliance with alcohol service laws and .
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑stocked bar.
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and ownership.
- Uphold sanitation, safety, and health department standards.
- 4–5 years of bartending experience in a restaurant or bar environment.
- Previous bar manager or lead bartender experience required.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, tequila, mezcal, beer, and wine.
- Experience with inventory management, ordering, and cost control.
- Professional, reliable, and guest‑focused.
- Able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Valid Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification — or ability to obtain after hire.
- Food Handler Card — or ability to obtain after hire.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
