Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Correctional Plant Supervisor (CPS), the Supervisor of Building Trades assigns and supervises the work of Bargaining Unit 12 employees and the apprentices of the respective trades. Responsibilities include the layout, assigning, work review, and supervision of the activities of building tradespersons involved in the maintenance and repair of Institution facilities; estimate labor and materials needed for specific jobs;
schedule and coordinate the flow of materials with the assignments of the various tradespersons to ensure that the order of work and job progress are properly maintained; ensure that jobs are completed. Prepare staff performance reports, project status reports, job and material estimates, budget change proposals, operational procedures, policies, and other reports as necessary. Maintain records as needed.
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position.
