Job Description And DutiesJoin a mission-driven team dedicated to reducing recidivism, improving prison safety, and enhancing public safety by providing meaningful work and training opportunities to incarcerated individuals.
ResponsibilitiesPersons appointed to positions in this class must maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful situations encountered on the job. They may supervise incarcerated individuals and/or protect personal and real property. Tasks may include:
- Work daily with medical and custody staff to ensure safety as a priority
- Provide examples of proper conduct on a work site and model behavior for incarcerated individuals
- Contribute to a statewide program that provides an infection-free and safe environment for medical staff and patient care

Desired Qualifications- Custodial, janitorial, or professional cleaning experience
- Experience cleaning bio-hazard or hospital environments
- Familiarity with janitorial equipment
- Experience leading or instructing a work group
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and overtime
- At least 156 hours of paid leave in the first year
- 11 paid holidays

May be required to wear a personal alarm and carry a whistle while on the worksite. Protective gear and adherence to health and safety policies are mandatory.
Special Requirements- Upon a conditional offer, clearance of live scan, tuberculosis (TB) test, and physical (if applicable)
- Subject to reasonable suspicion drug testing pursuant to 2 CCR
