Persons appointed to positions in this class must maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful situations encountered on the job. They may supervise incarcerated individuals and/or protect personal and real property. Tasks may include:

• Work daily with medical and custody staff to ensure safety as a priority
• Provide examples of proper conduct on a work site and model behavior for incarcerated individuals
• Contribute to a statewide program that provides an infection-free and safe environment for medical staff and patient care

Refer to the Class Specification for the full Minimum Requirements. Classified as Custodian I.

• Custodial, janitorial, or professional cleaning experience
• Experience cleaning bio-hazard or hospital environments
• Familiarity with janitorial equipment
• Experience leading or instructing a work group
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and overtime

• At least 156 hours of paid leave in the first year

May be required to wear a personal alarm and carry a whistle while on the worksite. Protective gear and adherence to health and safety policies are mandatory.

• Upon a conditional offer, clearance of live scan, tuberculosis (TB) test, and physical (if applicable)
• Subject to reasonable suspicion drug testing pursuant to 2 CCR
