Interim Controller

Overview

Beech Valley is seeking an interim Controller to support month-end close for a client onsite in Monterey, CA
. This is a hands‑on role for someone who can step in quickly, stabilize the close process, and ensure timely, accurate results while providing day‑to‑day leadership to the accounting function.

• Own and drive the month‑end close process, including timelines, task management, and final review
• Review key reconciliations and accounting outputs to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Provide day‑to‑day oversight and support to the accounting team (as applicable)
• Partner with Finance leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders to resolve issues and keep reporting on track
• Identify close bottlenecks and implement practical process improvements (checklists, documentation, controls)

• Controller-level experience (or strong Accounting Manager stepping into Controller responsibilities)
• Deep operational accounting and close leadership experience
• Comfortable operating onsite in a fast‑paced environment with minimal ramp time
• Strong communication skills and ability to keep teams aligned around deadlines
• Experience in structured close environments and working with auditors is a plus
