POSITIONOVERVIEW
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a comprehensive after‑school program, including pre‑season training, in‑season management, staff coaching, budget oversight, and parent and partner communications. The role is on‑site and ensures the smooth operation of daily activities such as snack time, outdoor play, homework help, SEL, and STEAM.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintain positive relationships with partnership contacts and site staff.
- Meet regularly with site staff to ensure collaborative alignment.
- Manage site budget, reconcile actuals, and oversee payroll compliance.
- Direct and coordinate assigned program sites while leading small‑ and large‑team supervision.
- Observe student behavior, apply behavior‑management techniques, and collaborate with the Program Culture Manager when needed.
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, and evaluate program staff.
- Implement program policies, safety, cleanliness, and cultural relevance for events such as Community Week.
- Lead staff meetings, training, and safety demonstrations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to children, staff, partners, and parents.
- Manage inventory, maintain program inventories, and uphold the EDMO Method SEL skills.
- Complete all tasks within assigned deadlines and perform additional duties as required.
- Passion and experience working with children of all ages.
- Prior involvement in an after‑school environment.
- Proven experience hiring, coaching, and managing a team.
- Skilled in building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
- High sense of responsibility and dependability.
- Strong communication skills, including email and real‑time collaboration.
- Skilled in problem‑solving, multi‑tasking, creativity, and flexibility.
- Experience facilitating groups of children and proven classroom management.
- Optional: A supply of costumes, skits, or songs.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
- Completion of 48 college units.
- Ability to take and pass the EDMO Instructional Exam.
- CPR/First Aid Certification required by the start date, including an in‑person CPR component. Compensation may be provided to obtain certification.
- Vision, hearing, and speech abilities for classroom communication.
- Upper body mobility to handle small objects and lift items up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work indoors and outdoors, with frequent breaks and interruptions.
- Mental requirements include the ability to read, write, understand, and apply complex information and perform multi‑step tasks.

This is a full‑time, regular exempt position. The salary is $68,000 annually and will be commensurate with experience and location.
