Job Description And Duties
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Academic Instruction, the Television Specialist (TV Specialist) performs a wide variety of professional and technical tasks in connection with the production, programming and distribution of television programs for the Distance Learning Model and other Education programs in the institution’s media center. It is the responsibility of the TV Specialist to maintain the media equipment and to prepare and submit CDC 954s for upgrading and replacing media equipment as required.
May be required to supervise inmates.

If it is determined a candidate does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position.
Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board. - Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by departmental annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
