Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Monterey, California. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting who is eager to contribute to accurate financial reporting and efficient bookkeeping processes. The position requires a commitment to maintaining financial integrity and supporting organizational goals through precise accounting practices.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.

- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to support precise financial reporting.

- Manage grant accounting processes, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

- Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) operations, ensuring timely processing.

- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.

- Review and analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

- Assist with bookkeeping tasks, maintaining organized and up-to-date financial records.

- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations in all financial activities.

- Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.

Requirements - Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.
