Job Overview
The Educator is accountable to the Education Department Director. The instructor is responsible for planning, providing, and/or facilitating the professional growth and development of hospital staff through didactic and clinical education processes. The educator supports the delivery of safe patient care by applying the nursing process—assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—based on established clinical nursing practice standards. She or he serves as a resource nurse, role model, and leader in health care administration, supporting the organizational vision and mission.
By incorporating knowledge of patient age and cultural diversity, the educator enriches the education process for both staff and patients, contributing to quality of care through performance improvement processes that lead to positive patient outcomes.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Currently RN licensed to practice nursing in California
- A minimum of four years of acute care experience; teaching experience preferred
- Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider (CPR) NIHS Stroke Cert, current and maintained; instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP preferred
- BSN or Master’s Degree preferred
