- Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures
- Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines
- Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions
- Position heated or cooled metal pieces on die of press or other forging machinery
- Operate presses or other forging machines to perform hot or cold forging to shape or form metal
- Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment
- Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications
- Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines
- Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products Equipment and machinery experience
- Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines Metal forming or shaping operations experience
- Bending Area of specialization
