Job Description & How to Apply Below
Take on a new challenge and apply your mechanical engineering expertise in a cutting‑edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative and collaborative teammates.
You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimized integration of all physical components and systems of the train, striking the best balance between customer requirements, technical standards, and cost objectives. Day‑to‑day, you’ll work closely with multi‑disciplinary teams across the business (Engineering, Sourcing, Industrialization, Manufacturing), lead the development of the train’s mechanical architecture, and ensure the quality and performance of deliverables, among other responsibilities.
You’ll specifically take care of reviewing and validating the activities of the Train Design team, ensuring alignment with Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) commitments, but also supporting teams during design reviews and production ramp‑up phases.
We’ll look to you for:
Leading the development of the train mechanical architecture, considering key parameters such as weight, gauge & kinematics, passenger capacity, accessibility, installation strategy, acoustics, eco‑design, ergonomics, and aeraulics.
Reviewing and validating Train Design team activities to ensure alignment with QCD commitments.
Planning and managing all deliverables under your scope, ensuring compliance with internal processes and customer requirements.
Ensuring the quality of deliverables and obtaining customer acceptance within agreed timelines.
Identifying and resolving mechanical issues and technical challenges across multiple domains of the train.
Defining mitigation plans for risks identified during the mechanical design process.
Collaborating with the Train Design Métier Manager to drive continuous improvement and integrate lessons learned (Return of Experience).
Providing support to Sourcing, Industrialization, and Manufacturing teams during production ramp‑up phases.
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with a focus on railway applications.
7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including experience working with external customers.
Effective time management and reporting capabilities.
Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize.
Customer‑ and product‑focused mindset.
Structured, organized, and hands‑on approach.
Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
