Job Description Summary
Join our Service Engineering group, a dynamic team dedicated to the execution of projects across North America. For our Service Engineering unit in La Prairie, we are looking for a Service Engineering Specialist – Electrical Equipment. Reporting to the Service Engineering Manager, the Service Engineering Specialist will work within the service engineering team on mechanical design projects as well as respond to all requests related to operations and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Record customer complaints, analyze the problem, obtain additional information from the customer, search documentation/experience for potential solutions, and propose a valid and applicable solution.
- Present internal and external customers with the documentation required for the operation and maintenance of equipment. Provide additional information when needed.
- Write diagnostic, assembly, and disassembly procedures.
- Respond to technical questions from internal sales staff, contract administrators, or clients. Provide technical assistance during bid preparation.
- Analyze, research, and propose solutions to issues related to discontinued GE Grid Solutions products. Test and industrialize the solution.
- Support the realization of business opportunities.
- Establish inspection criteria in collaboration with customers and disseminate them.
- Ensure continuity between the factory and the customer.
- Ensure the application of the factory’s technical directives.
- Respond to technical questions from customers and field technicians.
- Assist workers during disassembly/assembly activities to create methods, procedures, and prepare customer reports.
- Review and approve field reports from our technicians.
- Deliver internal and external training related to our equipment and solutions.
- Produce electrical drawings and occasionally mechanical drawings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering Technology.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of electrical networks, drawing software (AutoCAD and Inventor), and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to read and design electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Bilingual (French/English), spoken and written. The role requires communication with colleagues, suppliers, and international customers;
French/English bilingualism is mandatory. - Must have legal authorization to work in Canada. Any job offer is conditional upon successful completion of a pre-employment check.
