Junior Engineer, Structural Engineering - Industrial

Location: Mont-Saint-Hilaire

Overview   Type of position:  Regular
Your future role on our team  By joining our Structural Engineering team, you’ll work with multidisciplinary teams on one or more projects, carrying out consulting engineering tasks such as design studies and preliminary and detailed engineering. You’ll help us prepare engineering documents to design structures for projects in the industrial, mining and metallurgy, energy, petrochemical, environmental, sustainable development and other sectors.

Responsibilities   Design concrete and steel foundations and structures
Coordinate design activities with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, etc.)
Prepare estimates, technical specifications and reports
Help with quality control of the work of technicians and drafters
Help prepare estimates, schedules and budgets, where necessary
Help plan, organize and assess work
Help monitor site work, as required
Assist with site inspections and surveys
Perform other technical functions to support project delivery
Maintain close and harmonious relationships with clients or their representatives
Apply the firm’s health and safety policy and take the necessary preventive or corrective measures to perform the work safely; become familiar with the firm’s prevention program; and apply specific job directives

Qualifications   Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
Knowledge of structural analysis software
Available to travel occasionally to client sites and offices
Advanced level of English to collaborate effectively with offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; frequency may range from occasional to daily depending on projects
Advanced level of French to collaborate effectively with offices and/or clients in Québec
Asset: experience in finite element calculations
Asset: dynamic structural analysis
Asset: hold the ASP Construction card for health and general safety on construction sites; the firm can assist in obtaining this card
