Intern – Accounts Payable Technician

Position Purpose
Reporting to the Chief Accountant, the incumbent is responsible for managing accounts payable.

Responsibilities

Validate invoice approvals in accordance with internal accounting policies

Record invoices in a multi‑division and multi‑currency environment

Reconcile vendor statements and credit card accounts

Produce the accounts payable aging report and perform analysis and follow‑up

Respond to information requests from vendors and buyers

Resolve complex payables requiring in‑depth analysis

Perform electronic documentation of accounting information

Assist in the preparation of month‑end analyses

Respond to various information requests from management

Participate in finance team meetings

Perform any other related tasks

Job Requirements   Required Education

College diploma (DEC) in Business Administration, Accounting profile

experience in a manufacturing environment (an asset)

Technical Skills

Computer skills:
Office suite, with strong Excel skills

Knowledge of ERP systems and Epicor software, an asset

Personal Skills

Ability to work in a team and in a constantly changing environment

Ability to exercise professional judgment and meet deadlines

Rigour and professionalism in assigned tasks
