About Sam’s Table
At Sam’s Table, we’re not just creating dishes; we’re creating memories. We’re a 26-seat tasting menu restaurant with a singular goal: to make our guests feel like they’re walking into a home where every meal is a celebration of the season, of place, and of the people we care about.
The experience at Sam’s Table is grounded in care, connection, and craftsmanship. We work with ingredients that reflect the region and the seasons — and we present them with intention, love, and a quiet attention to detail. Every plate, every interaction, every service is an opportunity to create something meaningful for our guests and for each other.
The RoleWe’re looking for a Line Cook who wants to be part of something more than just a restaurant. You’ll work closely with the chefs and our small, tight-knit team to create food that feels personal, intentional, and full of soul.
As a Line Cook, you’ll not only be responsible for fulfilling the daily operations of the kitchen — you’ll be entrusted with helping shape the very heartbeat of our restaurant. This role is for someone who loves the craft of cooking, but also understands that great food comes from a place of care, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence.
We’re not looking for someone who just gets the job done — we’re looking for someone who genuinely wants to help us tell our story through food, who thrives in a small, highly creative environment, and who believes in making every detail count.
What You’ll DoLead the Kitchen with Calm and Confidence
- Be a part of day-to-day kitchen operations with focus, humility, and grace.
- Be present and lead by example, setting the tone for the kitchen culture with a commitment to quality and care.
- Keep things organized, clear, and steady — ensuring everyone feels supported and has what they need to succeed.
Create Food with Purpose
- Work closely with the Chefs to develop and execute our seasonal tasting menu, taking ownership of your section while contributing to the whole.
- Each dish you prepare will be a reflection of the story we’re telling that season — fresh, thoughtful, and full of life.
- Help maintain consistency across every plate that leaves the kitchen — from prep to plating, flavor balance to texture.
Mentor & Support the Team
- Guide and teach the junior cooks on your team — not just in technique, but in the spirit of care that we bring to everything we do.
- Create an environment where the team feels empowered to ask questions, take risks, and take pride in their work.
- Be a calm presence during service, helping the team stay focused, efficient, and inspired.
Manage the Details
- Helping with inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships with integrity, ensuring that we have what we need while maintaining efficiency and cost awareness.
- Oversee health and safety standards, ensuring that cleanliness and organization are top priority at all times.
- Keep the kitchen stocked and prepped, always anticipating what’s needed for service and the days ahead.
Collaborate & Contribute to Something Bigger
- Work with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless communication and timing — food that is perfectly executed and delivered with warmth and intention.
- Be part of our vision for the future of Sam’s Table, contributing your ideas and energy to shaping our menu, our experience, and our culture.
- Help us tell the story of Sam’s Table, not just through the food, but through every moment we create together.
What We’re Looking For
- 1-3 years of experience in a fine dining or tasting menu kitchen
- A true love of cooking — not just for technique, but for the joy of creating something that means something to people.
- Calm and focused— you set the pace and guide the team with clarity and empathy.
- An understanding that excellence is about attention to the smallest details and a deep respect for ingredients.
- A natural ability to mentor and coach others, fostering growth and pride in the team.
- A belief that food is more than just what’s on the plate — it’s about the stories we tell and the connections we build.
